TOPIC: Still Life Drawing

 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and be able to –

  1. state the meaning of still life;
  2. identify still life;
  3. draw still life.

 

 

ENTRY BEHAVIOR

The pupils are required to already have learned basic drawing.

 

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

  1. Paper
  2. Cardboard
  3. Pencil
  4. Eraser
  5. Sketch pad
  6. Still life object
  7. Photographs
  8. Old calendars

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON

INTRODUCTION

Still life drawing is the drawing of non-living things or objects. For examples: drawing of flower, pot, cup, book, etc.

Still life drawing is also include painting to create meaning or a visual effect.

 

STILL LIFE OBJECTS 

  1. House
  2. Television
  3. Chair
  4. Cup

 

DRAW STILL OBJECTS 

 

 

PRESENTATION

To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:

  1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
  2. Explains the meaning of still life;
  3. Pupil’s activities – State the meaning of still life.
  4. Names still life objects;
  5. Pupil’s Activities – Name still objects.
  6. Arranges still life objects and asks pupils to draw;
  7. Pupil’s Activities – Draw still life object.

 

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
