TOPIC: Kinds of Work in Our Community 

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to:

  1. Give 2 reasons for working.
  2. List 5 kinds of work.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of chart of different kinds of Work.

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON 

REASONS FOR WORKING 

  1. To earn a living.
  2. To care of their families.
  3. To support their children.
  4. To pay their bills.

KINDS OF WORK 

  1. Trading
  2. Farming
  3. Weaving
  4. Cattle rearing
  5. Wood work
  6. Fishing

PRESENTATION

  • To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
  1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
  2. Guides pupils to state the occupation of their parents.
  3. Pupil’s Activities – Mention the occupation of their parents.
  4. Guides pupils to state reasons why their parents work.
  5. Pupil’s Activities – State reasons why daddy and mommy work.

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson – kinds of work in our community II.
