PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, the pupils should have attained the following objectives (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) and should be able to describe the keyboard.

The teacher will teach the lesson with the aid of:

  3. Keyword

 

METHOD OF TEACHING – Choose a suitable and appropriate methods for the lessons.

Note – Irrespective of choosing methods of teaching, always introduce an activities that will arouse pupil’s interest or lead them to the lessons.

CONTENT OF THE LESSON  

ACTIVITIES 1 – IDENTIFY COMPUTER KEYBOARD 

ACTIVITIES 2 – FEATURES OF COMPUTER KEYBOARD 

Let the pupils identify different keys of computer keyboard. 

 

Features of Computer Keyboard 

  1. Number – 0, 1 to 9
  2. Capital letters – A to Z
  3. Arithmetic signs – +, -, > or <, %  =, etc.
  4. Other symbols – @, #, $, &, ( ), { }, /  \, *
  5. Punctuation marks – . , ?  ”  ‘  _  – !  :  ;
  6. tab
  7. caps lock
  8. shift
  9. ctrl
  10. fn
  11. esc
  12. f1 to f12, etc.

 

ACTIVITIES 3 – USE COMPUTER KEYBOARD 

Let the pupils type their names, numbers, etc. 

 

ACTIVITIES 4 – DESCRIBE THE FEATURES OF COMPUTER KEYBOARD 

Allow the pupils the features of computer on their own. 

A computer keyboard has rectangular shape with many keys.

 

Teacher’s remark – A computer keyboard is device that allows a person to enter letters, numbers, and other symbols into a computer. It is one of the most used input devices for computers.

 

 

PRESENTATION

  • To deliver the lesson, the teacher adopts the following steps:
  1. To introduce the lesson, the teacher revises the previous lesson. Based on this, he/she asks the pupils some questions;
  2. Guides the pupils to identify and describe the features of the keyboard.
  3. Pupil’s Activities – Observe the keyboard and identify its features.

 

CONCLUSION

  • To conclude the lesson for the week, the teacher revises the entire lesson and links it to the following week’s lesson.
